Recently, as the plaintiff’s representative, a worldwide well-known company focused on intelligent household electrical appliance,A. O. Smith Corp. Funto received a gratifying first-instance judgement, the court ruled that the infringers should compensate 3 million RMB(US$422,000) as compensation.

 

This is a groundbreaking case, by offering several reference cases as supporting arguments, we not only persuaded the court to recognize A. O. Smith Corp.’s trademarks as well-known, but also held that the two non-wholly owned shareholders bear joint responsibility. It is a hard-achieved triumph and is rare in China. Besides, the court also supported our claim to request that the defendants should make a public apology.
