INTA 2025 Annual Meeting Guangzhou Preview Reception Successfully Held

On March 27, 2025, the INTA 2025 Annual Meeting Guangzhou Preview Reception, hosted by the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the Guangzhou Development District Intellectual Property Association, and co-organized by Funto Law Firm was successfully held. About70 intellectual property professionals from Spain, Malaysia, Hong Kong (China), Beijing, Shenzhen, and other regions gathered to discuss key topics such as global IP strategy, risk prevention, and legal compliance in corporate globalization.


As one of the co-organizers, Funto Law Firm meticulously arranged the venue and reception, offering exclusive branded souvenirs and promotional materials showcasing the firm’s unique culture.



Mr. Etienne Sanz de Acedo, CEO of INTA, delivered a video welcome speech, introducing the INTA Annual Meeting as a premier global IP platform and highlighting the upcoming 147th INTA Annual Meeting in San Diego, USA (May 17–21, 2025). He expressed enthusiasm for greater participation from Chinese enterprises to jointly foster the growth of the global IP ecosystem.

Mr. Chen Dahai, Director of the Intellectual Property Protection Division at the Guangzhou Municipal Market Supervision Administration (Intellectual Property Bureau), emphasized Guangzhou’s role as a national leader in IP protection and innovation. He encouraged local delegates to engage with international peers at the INTA Annual Meeting, showcasing Guangzhou’s achievements in IP protection and business environment optimization, while inviting global IP talents and institutions to collaborate in the city.

Mr. Tian Shuai, Deputy Director of the Guangzhou Development District Intellectual Property Office, stated that the event was a key opportunity for international exchange. He reaffirmed the district’s commitment to global IP cooperation and invited innovators and IP service providers to join the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area IP hub.

Ms. Monica Su, INTA Chief Representative for China, presented data insights on the INTA 2025 Annual Meeting and introduced INTA’s tailored resources for Chinese companies, including the "INTA Guide to IP Practices for Chinese Enterprises Going Global", research reports, and certification programs. She thanked Guangzhou authorities and partners for their support and looked forward to deeper China-global IP collaboration.

In the theme sharing session, the three guests shared from different perspectives the intellectual property challenges that enterprises may face in the process of going overseas and the coping strategies.

Ms. Amanda Yang (Partner, Rouse & Co.) discussed the INTA Guide for Chinese Enterprises, focusing on IP registration, litigation, enforcement, and protection strategies in markets like Indonesia and the Philippines.

Mr. Zhu Zhengqiang (Vice President, Sanju Intellectual Property Group, Beijing) analyzed IP challenges in cross-border e-commerce, using U.S. TROs (Temporary Restraining Orders) and SAD (Seizure and Detention) lawsuits as case studies.

Ms. Maisy Ling (Partner, Funto Law) shared litigation strategies for high-value trademark infringement cases, covering punitive damages, evidence collection, and compensation models to maximize enforcement outcomes.

During the panel discussion segment, a fantastic roundtable was held featuring: Zheng Yinghao (Vice President, CVTE Electronics, Guangzhou), Wu Ling (Secretary-General, Guangzhou Development District IP Association), Ms. Orange He (Managing Partner, Funto Law Firm), Zhang Xu (Founding Partner, Hongfang Intellectual Property). They exchanged insights on INTA Annual Meeting experiences, global IP trends, and business expansion strategies, offering forward-looking perspectives on IP protection systems.
