On January 19, 2024, the "Symposium on Lawyers Handling Patent Administrative Law Enforcement Cases" jointly organized by the Foshan Administration for Market Regulation, the Foshan Nanhai District Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, the Patent Law Professional Committee of the Guangdong Lawyers Association, and the Trade Secret Law Professional Committee of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association was held in Funto Law Firm.

At the meeting, Mr. Chen Jiannan, a lawyer from our firm, delivered a speech as the deputy director of the Patent Committee of the Guangdong Lawyers Association. Following that, Yuan Leying, deputy chief of the Intellectual Property Protection Section of Foshan Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, presented typical cases of patent administrative law enforcement and actively engaged in discussions and exchanges with the guests regarding the application of laws and regulations in these cases as well as the analysis of infringement facts.

The second agenda of the meeting consisted of a free discussion session, during which the guests engaged in in-depth discussions on seven topics. These topics included “Common Issues in Case Filing”, “Common Issues in Investigation and Evidence Collection”, “Patent Infringement Comparison Issues”, and “Issues with the Defense of Lawful Source”. The participants explored solutions to challenging problems encountered by lawyers and administrative law enforcement agencies in judicial and administrative cases from various perspectives.

This symposium facilitated the exchange of ideas and experiences among lawyers and patent administrative law enforcement departments, aiming to enhance understanding, mutual trust, and professional competence in handling patent administrative law enforcement cases for Guangdong lawyers.
